Infrared Sauna

Infrared Sauna

One of our infrared light treatments, the infrared sauna detoxifies the body through the specialized use of infrared light. Infrared light is the spectrum of light with wavelengths less than what we can see, but it can be detected due to its heating effect. Infrared light below certain wavelengths can penetrate organic substances for two to three inches. We use these specific wavelengths to heat the body and trigger its natural cooling process: perspiration. This perspiration removes toxins and waste buildup in the body. Sweating is also an extraordinarily efficient means to burn calories. An average person can sweat off around a thousand calories during one sauna session, the equivalent of running around ten miles.

The benefit of using our infrared sauna vs a conventional sauna is how uniformly the infrared light heats the body. Where a conventional sauna would heat a person from the outside in by circulating hot air over them, an infrared sauna heats the body directly by penetrating the muscles and organs to gently warm them all evenly with no portion receiving too much or too little heat, and without putting as much strain on the body.
